Bayside employees performed literature reviews and archival records searches, conducted biological surveys (i.e., flora and fauna) and habitat assessment for special status species, focused surveys (i.e., Desert Tortoise, Burrowing Owl and rare plants), and delineated wetlands and waters within the study area. Our 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response trained biologists identified 13 live tortoises and 190 tortoise and/or burrowing owl burrows - of varying quality and age, throughout the study area during survey and compliance monitoring efforts. Bayside staff also performing worker environmental awareness training, compliance monitoring and reporting services for project.
